Abstract

The aim of this work was to study the Brazilian condition of the condensed milk once its selling performance has increased in recent years, especially in foreign markets. In addition, there was a survey in some international laws regarding the requirements of composition, to know the demand parameters from other countries as well as the usual types. There were few differences found in comparison with the CODEX ALIMENTARIUS. It featured the presence of condensed milk on all continents. Most of the studied laws adopt the kinds whole, low fat and fat free condensed milk. Countries that belong to the same continent or economic group tend to use the same applications of composition. The Brazilian law is outdated, requiring the creation of the Technical Regulation of Identity and Quality for the condensed milk to be also used on the MERCOSUL.
